My Life, My Music, My Hopes... My Dreams!

Sadness and Grief are upon us......

Hello Everyone,

This is John (Frankies Personal Assistant and Caregiver),
I am very sad and devastated to have to be delivering this message to the world.
Late Saturday night Frankie had suffered a heart attack from a blood clot that travelled into his lungs. The doctors and nurses were unable to revive him and He passed away at 8:36 PM. We will miss him greatly and we know those of you who come here loved and ejoyed all the happiness he brought into our lives. The world is a better place because He was here. The lives of so many people have been touched and motivated to be the best they could be because Frankie shined so brightly in the faith and deliverance of his message to us. He was the most strong minded and motivated person I have ever known. I can tell you, my life is different, not just a little different, but completely transformed into something I cannot explain, however, I can tell you I have the will, the  motivation, and the courage to carry on and try to be the best I can be, I owe it to him for believing in me when no one else did. I know there are countless others of you out there who have been blessed by knowing or hearing the Voice of this great man. I am very sorry to be the bearer of such tragic news, but, I have to say He is no longer in agony and for that I am grateful. I will share something with you so you can understand what Frankie dealt with on a daily basis, the pain and total uncomfortability that he suffered was so great , imagine the worst pain you have ever had to face then compound it ten fold and you might be close to what he kept repressed inside by sheer willpower. He never complained, and you could see the determination in his eyes when he said "Im gonna beat this thing." Unfortunately He never got the chance. God has a plan for us all and who are we to question him. This was Frankies time to go home to God and to unload the heavy cross he carried. And he did so Happily. That was Frankie. We love him and miss him and selfishly want him back, however, He can be free of these earthly boudaries and be free, and we want that even more.

God Bless You All,
John Capel, and Wanda Campbell

Hi, my name is Frankie Bush!

This web site was originally created a few years ago for the purpose of helping me find that very special scoliosis "reconstruction" surgeon or team of surgeons that might be able to help me with my lifelong dream of having a reasonably straight spine, or possibly simply stabilize my VERY SEVERE scoliosis that might make my quality of life a little easier.

Like thousands of people in the early 70s with scoliosis I had the Harrington rods and spinal fusion, halo traction, months of bed rest etc. and like thousands of people today with scoliosis who continue to have problems with the Harrington rods, Flatback and other extremely painful issues, PLEASE BELIEVE ME, I understand anyone who may be going through this type of life altering situation.

THE GOOD NEWS IS Now today I have finally found a WONDERFUL, world renown scoliosis surgeon in New York by the name of Dr. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, M.D. and I have multiple surgeries that have now been rescheduled for October 14, 2008 and October 22, 2008. It will be a complex and high risk of surgical procedures with a long and difficult road, but God willing this time I may have a shot at it! At least I have found a doctor who is giving me some hope and willing to take the chance to give me hopefully a little longer and better quality of life. And who knows I still may even get back to work and have a few more songs to sing and write, now would that not be a wonderful miracle after all these many years!

I ONLY KNOW THAT I HAVE TO KEEP TRYING! My life has been so blessed in so many ways I owe it to the people to keep trying and there is so much more I want to do. So anyone out there who may have seen me perform somewhere in the country years ago, don't count me out yet, God ain't done with me yet!

I will attempt to take you on a journey...

... of my amazing life from the time I was a young boy growing up in Greenville, South Carolina with dreams of becoming a professional singer/entertainer, fighting my lifelong battle with progressing scoliosis and spinal cord/brainstem injury, until present-day where I continue trying to maintain a productive, enjoyable life living in Las Vegas. Don't worry this is not a sad story, as I feel I have lived and been blessed more than most people could be in 10 lifetimes. It's true I have challenges, but I can and will meet them all and enjoy this incredible life that we have been given.

I have improved tremendously from numerous, postoperative "aftercare" complications from the surgery I had in Texas in 2002, though this past September I did have quite a close call with pneumonia, but I am much better now where I workout each day trying to improve to be the best I can be for my upcoming surgery in New York in October.

From my heart I thank everyone who gave me suggestions on how to find and research scoliosis surgeons. I have heard that there are only a handful of qualified specialist in the world that can perform scoliosis reconstruction surgery on cases as severe as mine, and this is why I tried to make my search known to people who might be able to help me throughout the world.

Even though in many ways I have been blessed beyond words and have achieved many of the goals and dreams that I have aspired to in my life, the one dream of having a straight spine and posture has always been the one dream that has eluded me. I have always believed however that "when a door SLAMS SHUT in your face, that somewhere a window will open. But you must have enough guts and courage to get up and go look for your window, as destiny is something that you achieve in this life, not just wait upon, while always complaining how bad life has been to you." So I hope you will join me on my new journey as I continue to try and achieve my greatest dream of all, as this time I think I have found the right doctor. I'll keep you updated from time to time on how things are going and if indeed I have found my own personal new window of hope in fulfilling my dream. I would love to hear from anyone who has any advice or suggestion, you can never make too many new friends.

Sincerely,

Signed Frankie
